A Sweet Stray Cat Named Georgie
A sweet stray cat, who staff named Georgie, came to the shelter as a stray and needed emergency medical care. On intake, all four of his legs were covered in old, severe wounds and infection. The cost so far for his treatment and care is $2,200.
Miss Beretta's Emergency Surgery
This lovely lady's name is Beretta. Miss Beretta was found running loose on N Elm St by some good Samaritans. When she was found and brought to the Shelter, she had a sizable uterine prolapse and was rushed to the ER. The Heroes Fund was used for the $4,000 emergency surgery, and follow-up care. Beretta spent time recuperating in one of our foster homes, and has since been adopted.
Family of Cats Left Outside Shelter
Early in the morning on February 20th, a family of cats was found abandoned in a carrier outside the shelter. Inside were a mother cat and her four kittens, all in need of urgent care. After intake exams, it was discovered that all five were suffering from a highly contagious fungal infection known as ringworm, which affects the skin and hair.
Keno Gets Life Changing Surgery & Forever Home!
When Keno showed up at the Shelter, he had a cantaloupe sized tumor swinging from his armpit and several large hotspots.
The medical treatment and surgery Keno needed is not in the normal budget for the Shelter. Thanks to donors like you, we were able to get the care for Keno that he needed.

Cement and Pavement are two kittens from a litter of four that were being fostered in a foster home. Their other two littermates had been adopted and Cement and Pavement were waiting for their forever home.
Noodle’s New Lease on Life
When Noodle arrived at Westfield Animal Control and Shelter, it was clear he needed help—and fast.
He had been found by a kind elderly man who spotted the stray kitten wandering his neighborhood. Just four months old, Noodle was sweet, curious, and full of life—but he had a serious problem. His back right leg was bent backwards—twice—forming a hard-to-believe, square-shaped loop that curled up behind him and stopped near his rear.

In the early hours of a cold February morning in 2022, Animal Control received a call no one wants to get. A multifamily home had caught fire. The fire department had rescued one resident and rushed them to the hospital. As the smoke cleared and flames were finally extinguished, firefighters learned there were still three beloved cats missing inside.
